Our Solutions
The GreyMatter Multiagent Orchestration (MAO) platform provides vendor agnostic fulfillment orchestration to continuously optimize performance in real time: the right order, with the right bot and agent, taking the right path and action. Currently operating more than 70 fulfillment sites across the globe (with deployments of 700+ robots at a single site), GreyMatter enables customers to decrease their fulfillment Cost Per Unit by 50%, reduce worker onboarding time by 90% and optimize peak season performance.
In retail stores, our gStore end to end store execution and retail management solution supports omnichannel fulfillment, real time replenishment, intelligent workforce tasking and more. Using real time overhead RFID technology, the platform increases inventory accuracy up to 99%, doubles staff productivity, and enables an engaging, seamless in store experience.
Role Overview
As a WMS Architect at Grey Orange, you will be the primary technical authority responsible for designing the digital nervous system of modern fulfillment centers. You will architect the complex integration layers between our AI-driven Grey Matter platform and industry-leading Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
The ideal candidate is a visionary with deep technical roots in enterprise supply chain software. You will ensure that robotic automation isn't just an "add-on," but a deeply integrated component of the client's ERP and WMS ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between high-level business requirements and low-level technical execution, ensuring data flows seamlessly between the "Brain" (Grey Matter) and the "Body" (AMR Robotics).
In this role, you will provide architectural leadership across product designs, solution design, implementation planning, technical governance, and customer engagements, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and supportable automation solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Integration Architecture
Architect end-to-end integration between GreyMatter and Tier-1 WMS platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS).
Define APIs, middleware architecture, and event-streaming strategies (REST, SOAP, MQTT, Kafka) to ensure low latency and data integrity.
Redesign warehouse workflows (Putaway, Picking, Replenishment, Sortation) to leverage AMR capabilities.
Design scalable architectures capable of handling 1M+ daily transactions during peak periods.
Provide architectural guidance and domain expertise to implementation teams, helping translate business requirements and operational workflows into scalable automation and integration solutions.
Technical Strategy & Enterprise Consulting
Serve as lead technical advisor to enterprise customers.
Conduct gap assessments between legacy WMS systems and automation requirements.
Design custom extensions and orchestration logic where required.
Partner with Solution Architects and Product Engineering to incorporate customer requirements into the product roadmap.
Architecture Governance & Quality Assurance
Work alongside the Solution Architect in pre-sales and post-sales phases to understand business requirements, create Integration Architecture.
Conduct Integration workshop with customer, designing of integration architecture with Nth level of details, publish customer approved Integration specification documents.
Review and approve integration designs from implementation engineers.
Establish performance, scalability, and security standards.
Lead volume and stress-testing architecture and provide technical escalation support during Go-Live.
Required Qualifications
WMS & Supply Chain Expertise
Deep expertise in at least one leading WMS platform and working knowledge of additional enterprise WMS solutions. ex: Manhattan (WMoS/Active), Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS.
Strong understanding of wave management, inventory control, slotting, labor management, and MHE integration.
Integration & Enterprise Architecture
Experience with ESB, API gateways, and middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, TIBCO).
Strong API architecture and event-driven system design experience.
Advanced SQL with performance tuning expertise (T-SQL / PL-SQL)
Experience with WCS/WES integrations and real-time system coordination.
Cloud & Modern Architecture
Experience working with cloud-native deployment on a major cloud platform (GCP preferred, Azure, or AWS).
Familiarity with containerized application architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies).
Familiarity with SaaS-based orchestration platforms.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Executive presence with ability to influence CIOs and Supply Chain leadership.
Strong architectural judgment balancing standardization vs customization.
Ability to operate in complex, multi-vendor automation environments.
Comfortable working in hybrid and onsite customer environments.
Travel Requirement
50% travel across Global customer sites and GreyOrange innovation centers.
