POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Global Vice President of Technology will serve as the architect of the company's next era of innovation - ensuring MFS remains competitive, relevant, and industry-leading in a constantly evolving industrial landscape . This executive role is responsible for anticipating how advanced materials, automation, sustainability pressures, and next-generation machining technologies will reshape the cutting fluids and industrial lubricants industry, and for positioning the company at the forefront of that transformation.
The Global Vice President of Technology will drive a bold, future-focused technical strategy that accelerates innovation, strengthens global technology platforms, and positions the company as a leader in emerging areas such as fluids for aerospace materials, bio-derived chemistries, circularity, digital monitoring, and ultra-high-performance machining. The Global VP of Technology will identify and build new technology platforms at the intersection of advanced materials, sustainability, and digital manufacturing, while embedding rapid learning cycles across the organization- using science, analytics, and process innovation to tightly connect Operations, R&D, and Finance to global markets, while overseeing R&D, product development, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing scaling.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Provides leadership to the executive team in developing future-focused technology, product, and process platforms.
- Shapes business models and processes that generate competitive, next-generation product lines.
- Strengthens current capabilities while building strategies for emerging markets and advanced materials.
- Drives development of new technology, product, and service platforms aligned with future machining and sustainability trends.
- Ensures core and novel technology objectives are prioritized and achieved.
- Guides global profitable growth plans, both organic and acquisition-driven.
- Plays a key role in evaluating M&A opportunities with emphasis on technical synergies and future-readiness.
- Contributes to enterprise value creation through innovation and IP leadership.
- Leads global recognition, protection, and deployment of intellectual property.
- Expands the company's use of analytics, chemistry, and process innovation as core differentiators.
- Builds and sustains a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Identifies organizational capability gaps and drives targeted remediation.
- Works closely with portfolio management and technology scouting to maintain a robust, future-aligned innovation pipeline.
- Balances resources across formulation, raw materials, quality, and long-term platform development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Ph.D. or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science.
10+ years of leadership in industrial chemical R&D.
Proven success commercializing advanced or complex chemical technologies.
Experience managing multi-million-dollar technology budgets.
Expertise in global chemical regulatory frameworks.
Strong executive presence and communication skills.
