Help

The incumbent provides the technical expertise and assistance required to support OAS, OIG and Cybersecurity and IT Audit Division. Performs a wide range of computer specialist assignments th require specific Informion Technology (IT) knowledge on basic audit techniques.

Supports Office of Audit Services by providing technical informion in audit reviews, evaluions, or special projects involving informion technology operions.

Prepares detailed well-written technical reports, presents audit findings and recommendions for review and examinion by supervisor or audit team lead; and makes oral presentions of findings, communices with others involved in the audit process.

Participes in the development and implemention of a risk-based IT audit approach to ensure key areas

are included.

Assists the audit lead in the development of audit programs and audit steps to meet audit objectives.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualificion Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupional Requirements for Informion Technology (IT) Management Series, 2210 (Alternive A).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Your resume must reflect informion technology reled experience in the federal service or prive or public sector demonstring the following four competencies: 1. P roblem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of informion; uses sound judgment to genere and evalue alternives, and to make recommendions.

In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, applicants MUST meet the Specialized Experience OR Educion requirements below:

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-09 grade level applicants MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstre the following experience:

Providing technical informion in audit reviews and evaluions involving IT operions;

Applying computer-based audit techniques to assist in conducting audits; AND

Assisting in the preparion of technical reports of audit findings and recommendions.

Educion:

Applicants must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent gradue degree or two full years of progressively higher level gradue educion leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, informion science, informion systems management, mhemics, operions research, stistics, or technology management or a degree th provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaption of applicions, systems or networks. NOTE: You must submit acomplete transcript showing relevant coursework a list of completed courses or incomplete transcripts will not be accepted.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience th transles directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume should include the des of all qualifying experience (from month/year to month/year) and the number of hours worked/volunteered per week. Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, prive sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prored basis.
