About the Opportunity

Kalamazoo Valley is seeking a full-time System Analyst Developer as part of the college's Information Technology department. The individual(s) in this position analyze business needs and implement solutions by using, recommending the purchase of, or creating appropriate software.

Specific Responsibilities of this Position

  • Works with a broad range of technologies such as web development, systems integration and management, programing and development.
  • Performs maintenance of the College's ERP and associated databases.
  • Trains end users on various systems.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and supports the learning management software system and provides "back office" integration support of other information systems.
  • Provides technical support to computer center staff, computer lab staff, faculty and learning technologies staff.
  • Assists with information technology projects including coding applications, setting up and maintaining server ecosystems and integrating/implementing software.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Knowledge of acceptable computer and information technologies applications and operations.
  • Knowledge of web application languages, procedural programming techniques and client-side scripting languages.
  • Skill in troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate education, training, and experience are required. An example of this would be an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems or a directly related field, and two (2) years of related experience in the information technology field.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Additional Experience Preferred

  • Experience with software upgrades and deployment.
  • Experience with end-user support.
  • Experience with configuring and supporting authentication systems.
  • Experience with CRM administration (example: Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Navigate360).

Physical Demands:

The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity.

Work Hours: Core business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm. May be required to work extend hours for system upgrades and emergencies. Posting Date 05/26/2026 Closing Date: Special Instructions to Applicants:
