Job Description
The Business Project Manager will lead and coordinate complex regulatory and business data initiatives, with a primary focus on unstructured data management and compliance-driven programs within SharePoint environments. This role is non-technical in nature and emphasizes stakeholder coordination, governance, project execution, regulatory alignment, and business change management.
The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise data governance teams, program leadership, compliance stakeholders, and project delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.
Location: Waterloo, Ontario (primarily remote)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid primarily remote with occasional onsite meetings
Contract Duration: June 2026 December 2026, with potential for extension
Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard business hours, with occasional early morning or evening meetings to support global stakeholders

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of regulatory data projects including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
Apply project management controls to effectively manage scope, schedule, risks, and deliverables
Partner with Enterprise Data Governance, business stakeholders, and project teams to drive project execution
Maintain and manage integrated project schedules across multiple workstreams
Monitor project milestones, identify schedule risks, and maintain critical path activities
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and coordinate deliverables using a hub-and-spoke operating model
Develop and manage project governance processes, status reporting, risk logs, and escalation frameworks
Support change management activities and business communication plans
Ensure regulatory commitments and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on schedule
Track project KPIs and support reporting related to compliance, governance, and project performance
Communicate project updates, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
5+ years of project management experience, ideally within regulatory or enterprise transformation initiatives
Strong experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with aggressive timelines
Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management and business change management
Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches
Proven ability to translate business requirements into structured project plans and actionable deliverables
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with a strong focus on governance, audit readiness, and compliance
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare
Familiarity with regulatory governance frameworks and compliance-driven initiatives
Exposure to data governance, reporting, or analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, or data lineage platforms
PMP or other project management certification
MBA or advanced degree in business or related discipline considered an asset
