Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
- Experience planning/leading network deployments and creating deployment packages and Methods of Procedures (MOP).
- Experience planning and coordinating with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
- 6 years of experience directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.
- 6 years of experience reading/writing or scripting code in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, Javascript, etc.).
- Experience collaborating across multiple levels and functions, with a passion for engaging and influencing tactical and strategic decision-making
- Experience leading the end-to-end execution of edge network capacity deployments and creating scalable automation for global metro infrastructure.

As a Network Implementation Engineer (NIE) on the Edge Metro Capacity Delivery team, you will independently manage the end-to-end execution of network capacity deployments for assigned metro sites. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the global edge infrastructure that delivers Googles content and services, ensuring our mission of "Edge Capacity, Optimally Delivered".
You bring a data-driven approach to troubleshooting complex network issues and have proven experience managing third-party contractors to deliver against committed technical objectives Working closely with cross-functional partnersincluding Technical Program Managers, Network Architects, and Design Engineersyou will position your assigned metros for success by driving efficiency and reliability in network build intervals You will leverage your technical proficiency and automation skills (e.g., Python) to proactively identify process improvements and ensure the technical accuracy of Googles production network.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$218,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Direct and prioritize resources while maintaining quality and adherence to network standards.
- Collaborate as a subject matter expert to ensure adoption of network infrastructure standards.
- Deliver network capacity for Google via generation of bill of materials, Deployment Packages, device management, vendor management, and standard workflow based activation.
- Triage of network issues, identification of root cause, generation of Maintenance Operation Procedure, and orchestration for network repair and completion of on-site work in support of the repair activity.
- Lead multi-quarter implementations and drive automation efforts using scripting to achieve industry-best network build intervals and drive scalable process improvements
