IT Support Specialist

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a stable manufacturing organization in Sacramento to hire an IT Support Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys supporting end users, solving technical issues, maintaining systems, and serving as a dependable onsite technology resource.

The right candidate will be responsive, customer-service oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-visibility role with the opportunity to support and improve the company's IT function over time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite desktop and end-user support for hardware, software, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and network-related issues
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and general business application issues
  • Respond to and prioritize support requests through the company's ticketing system
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, passwords, permissions, and access controls
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including workstation setup and account provisioning
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshoot basic networking and connectivity issues including VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, and printers
  • Perform software installations, updates, patching, and basic device maintenance
  • Maintain IT equipment inventory, software license records, and peripheral tracking
  • Document support procedures, technical solutions, and system configurations
  • Assist with IT security practices including antivirus, password management, access controls, and compliance procedures
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and service providers as needed
  • Support occasional IT needs at a nearby secondary plant location
  • Participate in system upgrades, technology rollouts, and special IT projects

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of desktop support, help desk, IT support, or related technical support experience
  • Strong experience supporting Windows-based business environments
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Office applications
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Entra ID, user administration, and permissions management
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, and printers
  • Ability to troubleshoot desktop hardware, software, peripherals, and connectivity issues
  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and respond with urgency in a small-team environment
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, production, or multi-site environments is a plus
  • Experience with Epicor ERP is a plus
  • Familiarity with VMware is a plus
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or related certifications are a plus
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move computer equipment and peripherals as needed

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role supporting a manufacturing environment. The position may involve occasional support for production-adjacent users, office users, hardware, printers, scanners, network connectivity, and business systems. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and following all required safety procedures.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour
