Android Engineer, Verification

We are looking for a seasoned Android Engineer to join the Verification team and help shape how Bolt verifies the identity of its drivers, couriers, and riders across the world. This involves exciting product challenges, such as building seamless identity and document verification flows, evolving our in-house verification SDK, and collaborating closely with product, design, backend, and machine learning teams. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to flows that span Rides, Bolt Drive, Delivery, and Driver Onboarding, and help transform how millions of users prove who they are.

About the role

As an Android Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying mobile solutions that improve the identity and document verification experience for our drivers, couriers, and riders, while contributing to the evolution of our in-house Verification SDK.

Mobile engineers at Bolt are also encouraged to expand their backend knowledge over time, making this a great opportunity for someone interested in growing toward a more full-stack engineering profile. All engineers at Bolt are deeply involved in product thinking, so you'll have the opportunity to shape and drive impactful product initiatives together with your Product Manager and the rest of the Verification team.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, A/B testing, and deploying solutions that improve the user journey across verification flows.
• Evolving our Verification SDK - the mobile entry point that captures documents, biometrics, and other verification media for Bolt's verticals.
• Working closely with backend and machine learning engineers to define and implement integrations for document capture, on-device validation, and biometric checks.
• Thoroughly testing solutions to ensure quality and reliability across both standard and edge-case scenarios, including a wide range of devices, cameras, and document types.
• Building a deep understanding of our products and their impact on business metrics and end users, while contributing ideas and feedback to the product roadmap.
• Leading feature development from idea to measurable impact for end users.

About you:

• You are comfortable making data-driven decisions that positively impact the business. Experience in product companies with a strong experimentation culture is a plus.
• You enjoy taking ownership of initiatives and driving them through to completion, including monitoring their success after launch.
• You have experience releasing high-quality mobile features across multiple Android versions, including experience with testing and automation frameworks.
• You care deeply about building clean, simple, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• You possess a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with camera APIs, media capture, on-device ML, or mobile SDK development is a plus.
