Senior Data Engineer

This role is for a senior technical leader responsible for modernizing large-scale finance and risk data platforms from legacy Cloudera ecosystems to cloud-native Databricks lakehouse architectures. The position demands deep hands-on expertise in data warehousing, data lakes, finance risk data models, and semantic consumption layers, with strong experience supporting regulatory, management reporting, and analytics use cases.

• 12-18 years of overall data engineering experience
• 8 years of experience across enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake platforms
• 5 years of experience with Databricks Spark at scale
• Deep expertise in data warehousing, data lakes, and finance risk data models
• Prior work experience in the client's industry

• Experience with PySpark and Spark SQL
• Familiarity with cloud object storage and Delta Lake
• Experience with semantic models using Databricks SQL, Delta tables, or dbt

• Lead modernization of legacy Cloudera platforms into Databricks Lakehouse
• Redesign ingestion, transformation, and consumption patterns
• Ensure data parity, reconciliation, and audit integrity during platform migration
• Design and govern enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures
• Build and manage semantic consumption layers
