The Data Architect at Rockland Trust is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the bank's enterprise data architecture. This role defines how data is stored, integrated, accessed, and governed across systems to support business strategy, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
This role is based in Plymouth with a hybrid model.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Data Architecture
Design and implement modern, enterprise-wide data architecture frameworks and standards
Define how data is stored, integrated, accessed, and managed across systems
Develop and maintain an enterprise data strategy aligned with business objectives
Data Modeling & Systems Design
Lead the design and development of:
Data warehouses (DW) and operational data stores (ODS)
Logical and physical data models
Integration with data quality tools
Design scalable data structures to support analytics and reporting
Data Governance, Security & Compliance
Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX, CCPA)
Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and security across the organization
Performance & Optimization
Monitor database performance and data workloads
Optimize systems for scalability, reliability, and efficiency
Recommend and implement performance tuning and improvement strategies
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide technical leadership to data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders
Influence enterprise data initiatives and IT policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units and external vendors
Tools & Technology Strategy
Evaluate, select, and implement data platforms and tools
Work with technologies such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, and Azure data platforms
Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry trends
