SAP S/4HANA WAM Solution Architect - Utilities & Gas Industry- Lansing, MI onsite with travel required 75%

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA WAM Solution Architect with strong expertise in the Energy & Utilities domain, specifically Gas Utilities operations. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Work and Asset Management (WAM), SAP ISU, and utility business processes including transmission, distribution, crew management, and capital construction.

This role requires hands-on experience leading end-to-end SAP implementations and delivering integrated solutions across utility operations, field services, and asset management environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong experience in Gas Utilities implementations with understanding of:

Gas Transmission & Distribution operations

Crew management

FERC accounting

Regulatory compliance

Capital construction

GIS applications

Hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA Work and Asset Management (WAM)

Experience with multiple utility commodities such as electric, gas, water, and wastewater

Knowledge of:

Field Service Management (FSM)

Mobility solutions

SAP ISU (Device/Work Management)

Minimum of 4 full-cycle SAP implementations from project preparation through go-live

At least 2 implementations within the Energy & Utilities industry

Experience working as a Solution Architect or Management Consultant

Preferred Skills:

Strong understanding of WAM business processes and workflow integration

Experience integrating SAP with enterprise applications for end-to-end operational solutions

Leadership and project management experience including:

Resource management

Project planning

Delivery management

Quality assurance

Industry knowledge within Energy & Utilities

Familiarity with AI technologies in SAP implementations

Understanding of cybersecurity and data privacy principles

Key Responsibilities:

Lead SAP S/4HANA WAM solution design and implementation initiatives

Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and optimize utility operations processes

Architect scalable and integrated SAP solutions for asset and work management

Provide functional and technical leadership across project teams

Support project delivery from planning through deployment and go-live

Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and operational best practices
