Back Senior Data Engineer - ETL/SQL/Matillion Data Engineer / Steward / Analyst St. Louis , Missouri Contract May 20, 2026 Title Data Engineer 2 Location St. Louis, Missouri Overview This role supports a modern cloud-based data services environment powering enterprise decision-making through scalable data integration, transformation, and analytics solutions. Must-Have Domains Cloud Data Engineering ETL/ELT Pipeline Development Enterprise Data Integration Core Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions. Develop source-to-target mappings, ELT documentation, and data validation processes. Write, tune, and troubleshoot complex SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and error handling. Support AWS-based data pipeline orchestration, including Lambda-driven workflows. Participate in production support, process improvement, and secure engineering practices. Must-Have Experience 3+ years of hands-on ETL experience for data integration and transformation. 3+ years of complex SQL development, tuning, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and error trapping. 3+ years of full lifecycle development, end-to-end testing, and data validation experience. Top 5 Must-Have Technical Skills Matillion Snowflake AWS services, including Lambda Complex SQL development and optimization Change Data Capture implementation Preferred Skills Looker, Atlan, and modern cloud data ecosystem experience. CI/CD pipeline knowledge, including GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Unit testing for ETL/ELT pipelines and data quality frameworks. Agile/Scrum experience and DevOps familiarity. Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead small projects. Work Environment Team-oriented, fast-paced data services environment. Supports cloud-based platforms hosted in AWS.
