We are seeking a Senior System Security Engineer to take full ownership of securing critical systems and infrastructure in a highly visible, high-impact environment. * Lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive security strategies

* Build and maintain secure, resilient systems to protect against evolving threats

* Develop and implement security solutions across infrastructure and applications

* Ensure system hardening across:

* Linux environments

* Windows systems

* Network infrastructure

* Secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)

* Ensure compliance with DISA-STIG security standards

* Diagnose and resolve complex security issues, delivering timely and effective solutions

* Partner with internal teams to maintain uptime, compliance, and operational security integrity

* Communicate security risks, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership

* Operate as the sole, hands-on System Security Engineer, driving initiatives independently

What You Bring

Linux Expertise

* Deep, hands-on experience with:

* RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu

* Strong knowledge of:

* System internals

* Administration and troubleshooting

* Linux template hardening

Windows Security

* Strong experience with:

* Active Directory Security

* System hardening & configuration

* Windows security stack

* Logging & monitoring:

* Windows Event Logs

* Sysmon

* SIEM integrations for threat detection

Infrastructure & Network Security

* Hands-on experience securing:

* On-prem and cloud-based servers

* Network devices and hypervisors

* Expertise in:

* Firewalls

* VLAN segmentation

* ACL configurations

* Strong understanding of:

* TCP/IP

* Network security protocols

* Encryption and authentication systems

Cloud & Container Security

* Experience securing:

* AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments

* Containerization:

* Docker

* Kubernetes

Automation & Scripting

* Advanced proficiency in:

* Python

* Bash

* Ability to automate tasks and build security tools

Security Tools, Frameworks & Compliance

* Experience with frameworks:

* PCI-DSS

* SOC 2

* NIST

* ISO

* Tools and technologies:

* Vulnerability scanning: Tenable Nessus

* Network tools: Cisco FMC, Extrahop

* SIEM: Splunk
