Technology Integration Specialist (K-6) SUPERVISOR: Director of Instructional Technology PURPOSE: Supports the goals and vision of the Board of Education by providing classroom support for the integration of instructional technology. Scope: The technology integration specialist facilitates the implementation of 21st century teaching skills and the integration of technology into the classroom. This position is a support role designed to increase the capacity of teachers and students to use technology and to enhance district curriculum through the integration of technology in the teaching and learning process. This is a full time non-teaching position spread between multiple elementary schools. Responsibilities/Duties: Designs, implements, and supports varied learning opportunities for educators in order to build capacity and expertise in the use of educational technology. Collaborates with teachers to support their use of instructional technology in the delivery of district curricula. Collaborates with teachers through coaching and modeling on effective use of instructional technology. Co-plans lessons with grade level teams or individual teachers to integrate technology into instruction. Supports teachers and staff in the use of other technology tools in the district as needed. Designs and disseminates learning resources for teachers, staff, and students related to the effective use of instructional technology. Coordinates, designs, and implements professional learning opportunities in the use of instructional technology with guidance from the Director of Instructional Technology. Models digital citizenship and information literacy. Collaborates with teachers and students to encourage digital literacy. Teaches digital citizenship and AI literacy lessons as scheduled by the Director of Instructional Technology in coordination with the building principals. Promotes appropriate safeguards for student data privacy in accordance with state and federal laws. Keeps up to date on current trends in instructional technology through research and attendance at professional learning events. Keeps up to date on strategies for integration of instructional technology such as the SAMR, TPACK, and PICRAT models. Keeps up to date on technology integration standards including state-approved ISTE Standards. Supports district curriculum teams in the integration of instructional technology into curriculum as needed. Attends all meetings of the District Instructional Technology Department and presents/facilitates as requested. Participates in the development and design of district professional learning related to the department goals. Communicates regularly with families and the community regarding educational technology use within the schools. Skill Requirements Strong instructional technology design and implementation skills for educator training Ability to collaborate with teachers for effective technology integration in curricula Knowledge of current instructional technology trends and models (e.g., SAMR, TPACK, PICRAT) Expertise in promoting digital citizenship and ensuring student data privacy compliance Excellent communication skills for engaging families and the community on tech use Proficient in using Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) for instructional and administrative purposes Ability to train and support educators in leveraging Google Classroom and Google Workspace for Education for effective teaching and learning Physical Demands: Must have a valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle Education and Experience Required: Master's Degree Appropriate Endorsement to teach at the Elementary level. Minimum five (5) years of successful teaching experience Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher with knowledge and mastery of effective instructional technologies Experience leading professional learning for colleagues Complete Google Level 1, Google Level 2 and Google Certified Trainer certification within the first year in the position. Complete Google Coach training and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) certification by the end of the second year in the position. Compensation and Benefits: Per SEA Bargaining Agreement Evaluation: Performance of this position is evaluated annually by the Director of Instructional Technology following the Stratford Educator Evaluation and Support Plan.
