Performs responsible technical, professional, and supervisory work focused on the planning, management, and coordination of the Water Utilities Information Technology (IT) Help Desk and Application Support. Manages the implementation of automated solutions, the installation, maintenance, and configuration of Local Area Network (LAN)/Server or minicomputer hardware/software, the development of business applications, and database design/maintenance. Researches available software and hardware options; prepares cost-benefit analysis and purchases equipment based on requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the support of LAN/Server or minicomputer-based systems,
OR
- Related Associate's Degree OR equivalent academic training from a technical institute/formal military education program (minimum of 900 hours) OR an unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of four (4) years of experience in the support of LAN/Server or minicomputer-based systems,
OR
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of experience in the support of LAN/Server or minicomputer-based systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- At least two (2) years of experience supervising IT staff,
- Experience in Project management techniques, and
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL/Windows server, Storage Attached Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Document
Management System, Water Information Management System (WIMS), SharePoint, and backup/enterprise systems support.
