Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage the network segmentation of a financial services company; this includes identifying risks that can be mitigated with network segmentation, assessing the current network architecture, identifying areas to mitigate risks with network segmentation, developing a cost estimate and timeline estimate to mitigate; focus is reducing risk related to blast impact of Ransomware
  • Collaborate with client network, server, cybersecurity, and risk organizations to understand goals and requirements
  • Bring knowledge of past network segmentation work from previous clients
  • Develop and implement comprehensive network segmentation architecture strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Design scalable, high-performance network segmentation low level design to support current and future business needs
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovations to optimize network segmentation

Implementation and Deployment:

  • Lead the deployment of complex network segmentation, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and integration of network hardware and software components
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of network solutions

Documentation and Support:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including design specifications, configuration details, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the IT team.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with IT management, business units, and stakeholders to understand their network requirements and develop tailored solutions
  • Lead and mentor a team of network and firewall engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to drive the technological advancement of the organization
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience in network architecture, design, and management
  • Minimum three years of recent, hands-on experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware, and more)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (network management tools, VPNs, host-based firewall)
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and more) and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network
  • Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or similar are preferred
  • Resiliency and DR including but not limited to:Palo Alto, Illumio, WAP, F5 firewalls and HLB, Cisco routes/switches
