Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Information Security Architect with deep expertise in AWS to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions. This role is responsible for shaping enterprise-level security architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and guiding multiple projects simultaneously.
We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.
This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA or Plano, TX. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
We are seeking a Senior Information Security Architect with deep expertise in AWS to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions. This role is responsible for shaping enterprise-level security architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and guiding multiple projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will work closely with product owners, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to embed security into cloud and system architectures. This includes designing secure AWS environments, performing threat modeling, and implementing controls aligned with frameworks such as NIST and OWASP. The role requires a hands-on leader who can influence strategy while also driving execution across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence in Reston, VA (three days per week).
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 10+ years of experience in IT or Information Security
. 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS architecture, including services like IAM, RDS, networking, serverless, and container platforms (ECS/EKS)
. Solid understanding of AWS security best practices and well-architected frameworks
. Experience designing secure cloud environments with a focus on data protection (encryption, masking, tokenization, access controls)
. Proven ability to lead threat modeling exercises and translate findings into practical security controls
. Background in application and API security, including authentication and authorization (AuthN/AuthZ)
. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and securing CI/CD pipelines
. Experience with security tools and concepts such as SIEM, CSPM, and container security
. Strong grasp of industry security standards (NIST, OWASP, CIS, ISO, etc.) and how to apply them in real-world architectures
. Ability to design resilient, scalable systems with high availability and integration across platforms
. Comfortable working across teams and driving security initiatives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
. Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate at a senior, strategic level
Relevant certifications are a plus but not mandatory, such as:
. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Specialty)
. CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
. CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $121,900.00 - $154,300.00.
