Position Type: Temporary / Seasonal (Summer 2026) Reports To: Technology Coordinator Location: Primary location Middle School Tech Office, various buildings Duration: June 1st to July 31st (Approx. 9 weeks)

Position Overview

The Summer Technology Assistant will provide critical hands-on support to the K-12 Technology Department during its busiest season. This role focuses on the maintenance of the district's 1:1 Chromebook program, the deployment of new staff hardware, and the preparation of classroom technology for the upcoming school year. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in IT operations, hardware repair, and systems management.

Key Responsibilities

1:1 Device Maintenance: Assist in the bulk processing of student Chromebooks, including cleaning, basic hardware repairs (screens, keyboards, batteries), and functional testing.

Inventory & Asset Management: Accurately update the district's inventory database to ensure all 1:1 devices are tracked and assigned to the correct grade levels/locations.

Classroom Tech Support: Assist in the setup and testing of classroom laser projectors and wireless streaming configurations to ensure teachers are "day-one ready."

Summer Program Support: Provide Tier 1 technical troubleshooting for active summer school classrooms and administrative offices.

Organization: Assist in the decommissioning of e-waste and the organized storage of technology supplies.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of ChromeOS and experience with (or a willingness to learn) hardware repair.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow strict workflows for asset tagging and data entry.

Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and spend time moving between classrooms and buildings.

Communication: Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with district staff and administration.

Reliability: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
