IT Help Desk Technician

Summary:

This position is responsible for providing technicalassistance to end users, coordinating resources, escalating issues to theappropriate support specialty, and maintaining IT assets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Installs, configures, and maintains desktop & laptop PCs,tablets, and peripherals such as printers, and other relevant office equipment.

Creates users and manages account accesses.

Analyzes & implements security measure forcomputer/information systems.

Responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requestfor IT tech support.

Documents, tracks, & monitors IT issues thoroughly &accurately to ensure timely responses.

Identifies, researches, analyzes, & resolves employeetechnical computer related issues.

Escalates, both accurately & timely, problems requiringon-site hardware or configuration changes.

Installs computer software for users as needed.

Tests computer hardware and software performance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Associates degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, Business, or other related field preferred, Bachelors in same aplus

1 or more years of computer experience, and/or technicalsupport preferred, with strong emphasis on customer service.

Good working knowledge of IT Applications in Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, and desktop software/operating systems needed.

Basic knowledge of desktop hardware & networkconnectivity.

Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, andorganizational skills.

Should be multi-tasker, with excellent deductive reasoning& troubleshooting skills.

Must possess self-direction abilities, but also be able tofunction well in a teamwork style work atmosphere.

Should be able to prioritize tasks to meet departmental andorganizational goals.

Ability to be on call 24/7 on a rotating basis with otherteam members.

Shift:

Mon-Fri, Day Shift, 8am 5pm; with on call hours, asrequired.

Working Conditions:

Job will include periods of standing, walking, reaching,stooping/kneeling, and bending with long periods of sitting, viewing computerscreens. Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaces will also be present.Subject to heat/cold conditions when traveling between buildings. May be required to lift to 30 lbs.
