AIX / Linux System Administrator - Unix Infrastructure, Automation & Enterprise Support - 68392
We have an immediate need for an AIX / Linux System Administrator for an onsite opportunity in Wichita, Kansas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems professional to support and manage enterprise-grade Unix infrastructure in a mission-critical environment. As an AIX / Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise server environments across IBM AIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms. You will monitor system health, ensure high availability, perform upgrades, patching, and security hardening, and proactively address performance issues. The role involves troubleshooting complex infrastructure problems, managing user access and permissions, implementing backup and recovery procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support critical business operations. You will also maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to continuous infrastructure improvements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in AIX, Linux, and Unix system administration, including performance tuning, shell scripting using Bash and KornShell, system security, and networking fundamentals. Experience with backup and recovery solutions, monitoring tools, virtualization technologies, and automation platforms such as Ansible is highly preferred. Exposure to cloud environments and strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills will be valuable assets.
