The Door County Land Trust database manager ensures the donor database (Salesforce NonProfit Success Pack) is a dynamic tool for donor stewardship, ensuring data integrity that supports every donor and member interactionfrom initial gift to long-term partnership. The database manager serves as the primary architect and steward of our organizational data, ensuring that Salesforce functions as a powerful tool for our development program. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex technical administration and mission-driven fundraising, providing the insights, workflows, and system integrity necessary to bring Door County Land Trust's donor engagement and fundraising efforts to the next level.
1. Salesforce System Administration, Maintenance, & Training (25%)
Serve as the lead Salesforce NPSP Administrator, overseeing the full lifecycle of the platformincluding security, user permissions, custom field creation, and validation ruleswhile proactively managing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure a high-performing technical environment.
Act as the primary steward of data integrity by developing, auditing, and enforcing rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation; this includes managing deduplication and maintaining the database as the organization's donor information hub.
Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training programs to foster a culture of data literacy, while continuously researching industry best practices to recommend system enhancements and integrations that advance the DCLT mission.
2. Fundraising Reporting & Analytics (15%)
Build, maintain, and automate dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators.
Provide data-driven insights to the Development team to optimize fundraising strategies.
3. Manage and Support Major Gift Fundraising (15%)
Set up moves management infrastructure (dashboards, contact reports, gift fields, actions etc.) and provide moves management support (update dashboards, enter contact reports etc).
Provide monthly reports on outstanding and completed opportunities and actions for ED and Development Director to track their donor activity.
4. Fundraising, Events, and Communications List Segmentation (25%)
Research, build, maintain, and manage communication functions to create an efficient membership renewal email process and segmented audience emails.
Segment donor lists for donor communications, member communications, direct mail appeals, email marketing, and cultivation events.
5. Gift Processing & Verification (20%)
Oversee the accurate recording of all donations, pledges, grant awards, and in-kind gifts.
Continually update/set up fund, constituent, and appeal codes, etc. ensuring appeals and acknowledgement templates are fully functional and maximize automation.
Miscellaneous support for fundraising may include working with volunteers, attending DCLT events, and other duties not outlined above.
