Spire Orthopedic Partners is a growing national partnership of orthopedic practices that provides the support, capital and operational resources physicians need to grow thriving practices for the future. As a Management Services Organization (MSO), Spire provides the infrastructure for administrative operations that allows practices to operate at their highest level, so doctors can focus their efforts on what matters most – patient care. Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
What you’ll do:
Spire Orthopedic Partners is a growing Orthopedic group and we're building the data infrastructure to match. We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst who wants to own the reporting layer that keeps our operations running: physician scorecards, practice VP dashboards, front desk throughput metrics, patient access trends, and everything in between.
We want someone who can sit down with an operations leader, figure out what they actually need to make a decision, and build tools and insights that directly influence operational decisions and performance.
Spire's leadership is highly data-driven and actively investing in accelerating our analytics capabilities. There's an existing foundation here, and we're looking for someone who can assess what's working, retire what isn't, and build the things that will move us forward. That takes more than technical skill. It takes good judgment and the confidence to make calls.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Own and maintain the operational reporting suite in Power BI, ensuring outputs directly support EBITDA, volume, and cash performance management, covering physician performance, front desk metrics, scheduling efficiency, and more
Partner with practice VPs, operations leads, and clinical staff to understand what they need, translate that into data requirements, and deliver reports they'll actually use
Write and optimize complex SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, transform, and validate data from multiple source systems
Make clear, actionable recommendations based on data, including quantified impact on revenue, EBITDA, operational efficiency and strategic business decision making
Build and document repeatable data pipelines that support consistent, trustworthy reporting across practices
Monitor data quality and flag anomalies proactively; resolve inconsistencies at the source where possible, and drive toward a single source of truth
Deliver ad hoc analysis alongside production reporting, and do both on time
Help set standards for how we build, document, and maintain reports; drive standardization of metric definitions and reporting across the network to enable consistent performance management
Mentor junior team members and help raise the overall quality and consistency of the team's analytical work
What Success Looks Like:
Standardized definitions for core operational metrics
Scorecards actively used in Monthly Operating Reviews
Reduction in manual reporting work
Identification of measurable operational improvement opportunities
Improved trust in data across teams
QualificationsWho you are:
5+ years of hands-on analytics experience, with at least 3 years focused on healthcare or a related field
Strong SQL skills. We're on Snowflake, and you should be comfortable writing complex queries from scratch, not just tweaking someone else's
Power BI experience beyond the basics: data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report design that non-technical users can actually navigate, understand, and action
Familiarity with Excel at an advanced level including pivot tables, Power Query, and complex formulas
A track record of working with non-technical stakeholders and turning vague questions into clear, actionable reports
Strong communication skills. You can explain what the data says, what it doesn't say, and what to do about it
Comfortable presenting findings to operational and executive audiences, including physician leadership
High attention to detail and a low tolerance for numbers that don't add up
Healthcare experience is a plus, especially in a multi-site or physician group setting
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field, or equivalent experience
Python or R for analysis automation
Experience with dbt for managing data transformations in Snowflake
Familiarity with an EMR platform such as Athena or Modernizing Medicine (ModMed)
Exposure to orthopedic or surgical workflows preferred
What we offer:
Excellent growth and advancement opportunities
Dynamic environment
Access to a diverse network of practitioners
Broad infrastructure of tools and programs to enhance the employee experience
Competitive Compensation
Generous PTO
Benefits package: health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.
We are an equal-opportunity employer. Qualified Applicants are considered for positions and are evaluated without regard to actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex, or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), gender identity or gender expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, protected medical condition as defined by applicable state or local law, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances (referred to as “protected characteristics”).
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.
