SQL Database Administrator - 68141

Pay Rate : $45- $47/hr

We have an immediate need for a SQL Database Administrator based in Spring, TX, working onsite to manage and optimize enterprise database environments in a secure and high-availability setting.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environments, including versions such as Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022. You will implement and manage backup and recovery strategies, configure log shipping, and maintain Always On Availability Groups to ensure business continuity. The role involves troubleshooting complex performance issues, performing query optimization, and ensuring database systems are running efficiently and reliably. You will also be responsible for applying security hardening practices aligned with federal standards such as NIST, FISMA, and STIG, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support critical applications and data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization. Expertise in high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On and log shipping is essential. Proficiency in automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Python is required. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of database security practices and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS will be an added advantage, along with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
