Position Type: Information Technology/Network Technician Date Posted: 4/9/2026 Location: Desert View High School Date Available: 04/15/2024 DEFINITION: To provide CTE/JTED staff with integration services and technical support for the wide area and local area network communications systems. To perform systems trouble shooting and configuration of network hardware, operating systems software, and applications software. Take direction from Director of Career & Technical Education and Director of Information Technologies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class). TASKS: Responsible for systems management (fine tuning, configuration and trouble shooting) of: network hardware, operating systems architecture software, and applications software. Assist in the ongoing evaluation of changing hardware and software technologies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of District policies and procedures Knowledge with Help Desk procedures and with taking trouble calls from end users. Knowledge of the following operating systems: Windows Server and Professional, Mac OS X, iOS. Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Mac OS X. Knowledge of how to use a Multi-Meter Knowledge of Network Operating System Experience: Windows Active Directory Knowledge of fundamental trouble shooting, down to the module level, including understanding port interrupts and memory addressing. Skill in In-depth understanding and experience of how to implement network distributed multimedia (Voice, Video, and Data) hardware and software. Skill in Topology and Cabling Configuration Skill in performing technical configurations for computer networks. Skill in installing and supporting Peripherals, Print Servers, Printers (Laser, Ink Jet, and Dot Matrix). Skill in installing, configuration and support of Cisco Networking Equipment. Skill in 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless networking. Skill in using the Internet. Specifically in applications software installation, configuration and support of WEB Servers and Browsers. Skill in installing, configuring and supporting SNMP management across WAN Connectivity Components (Servers, Routers, Hubs, Switches and Workstations that support SNMP) (Preferred). Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; customer service oriented. Highly motivated team player who can work with or without supervision. Experience in dealing with timeline priorities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor and lifting up to 15 pounds. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years experience required in Technical Skills Cisco Certifications CCNA, CCNP Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Applications Product Specialist MCSA, MCSP Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment. Salary Grade: M Hourly Pay: $22.30 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 260 Days Start Date: 2025/2026 School Year Additional Information: Temporary for remainder of 25/26 SY, until June 30, 2026.
