The Governor's Office of Information Technology is seeking a dedicated Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As our new Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the design, planning, engineering, configuration, administration, maintenance, and support of various systems within our deskside support services unit. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing enterprise-level desktop solutions, in a highly technical environment, ensuring secure and efficient IT operations across multiple platforms. Additionally, you will research, analyze, and test new technologies, recommend automation efforts, and develop future tools and processes. You will configure, install, test, and maintain Windows-based operating systems, application software, and systems management tools.

Some of your important responsibilities will include:

  • Support, guidance, and mentorship of internal teams, and development of partnerships and collaboration with other key stakeholders state-wide.

  • Evaluation of the security of the Deskside environment, ensuring best practices and targets for hardening requirements are met.

  • In-depth and continuous troubleshooting in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of security hardening of computer imaging across the state.

  • Develop future state strategies, roadmaps, and initiatives that are aligned with the Enterprise Deskside Security & Configuration Management Team's goals and vision

  • Technical escalation point for Client Services and Enterprise projects, recommending new procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance.

A wide salary range is posted for this position, and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis.

This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:

Minimum Qualifications:

Four (4) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the assignment work assigned to the position, to include previous experience in a professional IT support environment.

Substitutions:

  • Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

  • Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

  • If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Intune, SCCM, and cloud MDM solutions.

  • Experience managing mobile devices, including cell phones and tablets.

  • Experience managing iOS devices.

Conditions of Employment:

OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.

A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test.

This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.

This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.

If this posting indicates "remote from anywhere in CO" in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.

While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
