POSITION SUMMARY
Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have profound technical knowledge, aptitude for logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. As a Staff Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality automation software that meets business needs. You will build highly scalable microservices, event driven systems and real time streaming pipelines. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
What You Will Do
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and design patterns
Apply strategic thinking to define a vision and actionable plans to meet long-term goal
Simplify complex problems and evaluate them systematically using strong analytical skills
Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions that meet business and quality standards
Contribute to solution architecture and collaborate with architects and senior engineers
Provide input on technical feasibility, performance, and scalability
Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and quality guidelines
Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment and contribute to decision-making
Drive adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity
Lead knowledge-sharing activities such as tech talks and workshops
Implement complex features and enhance existing functionality with high-quality code
Mentor junior developers and support their professional growth
Promote and implement automation across the development lifecycle
Collaborate with business partners, product owners, architects, and security teams
Conduct research on emerging technologies and frameworks to future-proof solutions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying production-ready systems
5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
5+ years of hands-on full stack experience like angular for front end frameworks and back end technology knowledge such as Java or Nodejs
Databases experience to include either MongoDB or MySQL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker
Proven experience leading software development projects, setting goals, tracking progress, and mentoring team members
Proven ability to work with distributed teams across time zones
Strong understanding of software delivery practices and technical program leadership
Experience working with technology vendors and managing external partnerships
Ability to make informed decisions quickly and take ownership of large-scale applications
Familiarity with technical and security audits and implementing audit recommendations
Deep understanding of cloud architecture, algorithms, and data structures
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Octopus, etc
Strong testing skills including unit and integration testing, and participation in code reviews
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the companys equity award program.
