In this role, you'll support the research, academic, and patient care missions of our college. You will be the first point of contact for support requests through in-person interactions, emails, and phone calls. This is a lead role that has ownership over the desktop support and assessment management operations. You will partner with various members of our team, including another Desktop Support Specialist and student workers, to solve problems and provide support for one another. Our environment is primarily Windows OS-focused, with a mixture of Mac devices. Through our comprehensive onboarding and training process, we will ensure new candidates become proficient and knowledgeable in the Dentistry IT ecosystem. In this role you will lead our asset management operations including purchasing, imaging, deploying, and surplus. This position is also responsible for supporting key strategic initiatives within the department and college. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Information Technology. This position has the following responsibilities: Application and Device Support: Installing software, troubleshooting devices, working with vendors to repair equipment, tier 1 networking triage, and printing. Work is performed in a mix of in-person and remotely as you are triaging or solving incidents. Documentation Creation: Creating end user focused documentation or internal technician documentation. Asset Management: Equipment ordering, computer imaging and deployment, inventory management, and surplus management. Accounts and Access; Working in Active Directory to manage user accounts, workstations, and user forms and policies. Projects: College Strategic Initiatives, Internal Team Projects, or self-proposed projects. Professional Development: It's important to continue to grow and develop in an IT path that meets your career aspirations. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; Weekend or holiday hours when necessary. Ability to lift and move standard desktop PC equipment and peripherals, up to 50 pounds. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major or minor in computer science or closely related field 4 years+ of on-site desktop computer support experience, or equivalent of education and experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Applications required Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and coordinate resources to meet the needs of the College technology users; demonstrated skill and experience in computer technology. This position requires successful completion of a background check and drug and alcohol screening. The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States, and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into eleven divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. Pay Range: $58,700 - $77,200 Salary will be based off of education, experience and budget allowance.
