Job Summary
Job Description
The company is a leading provider of aerospace cabin components for private, VIP, and government aircraft.
The Program Manager is the accountable lead responsible for driving assigned customer programs to successful execution-on time, on budget, and on scope. Serving as the primary point of contact with the customer, this individual ensures all internal stakeholders are aligned and executing proactively. This role requires strong program discipline, clear communication, engineering fluency, and a bias toward action. The Program Manager partners closely with engineering, operations, and sales to keep programs organized, accountable, and moving forward.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Function as the primary point of contract for all customer communications on assigned programs.
- Lead kickoff, milestone, and delivery meetings internally and with the customer.
- Take full responsibility for the program schedule, deliverables, and scope across all phases-from requirements to final delivery and post-support.
- Provide weekly program status reports and presentations, proactively highlighting risks and path to-green strategies.
- Drive proactive customer engagement and manage expectations effectively.
- Lead internal coordination across engineering, production, supply chain, and quality to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Track action items and ensure ownership and closure-"own the follow-through."
- Maintain detailed program trackers, timelines, RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), and configuration documentation.
- Ensure program documentation, engineering changes, and approvals are current and audit ready.
- Identify risks early and ensure risk mitigation plans are developed and executed.
- Escalate blocking issues appropriately-with actionable recommendations, not just problem statements.
- Monitor scope changes and control program creep through disciplined communication and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain customer-facing documentation such as status decks, Gantt charts, ATP readiness logs, delivery records, and certification packages.
- Work closely with engineering on compliance, test, and certification support documentation.
- Coordinate customer approvals, signoffs, and change orders in a traceable and timely manner.
Skills and Abilities:
- Take responsibility for results and never let details fall through the cracks.
- Manage complex timelines and dependencies with clarity and control.
- Possess the ability to anticipate problems, follow up without being prompted, and communicate before being asked.
- Understand engineering language and trade-offs to effectively coordinate across disciplines.
- Possess knowledge and experience in aircraft cabin technologies such as CMS, IFE, lighting, and PED integration.
- Demonstrate a professional, responsive attitude that is capable of building trust with high expectation customers.
- Exhibit a proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel, Gantt charts)
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering Project Management or Business
•PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
•5+ years of program or project management experience in aerospace or complex cabin systems
•Direct experience coordinating engineering, manufacturing, and certification teams.
•Familiarity with aerospace standards such as DO-16-, DO 178, and ARINC protocols.
