Key responsibilities: Assist in maintaining existing computer infrastructure of 5000 PCs globally Image/Onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network and decommisiion it. Secure and protect new and existing hardware Consult with the business as they require assistance with their equipment Troubleshoot and implement data flows for scientific instrumentsTechnical/Functional Skills: Outstanding computer troubleshooting skills for obscure issues, ranging from device connectivity, and laboratory software issues Background with End-user Computing or Desktop Support skills essential. Break/Fix consists of 80% of a Lab Engineers workload Understanding of Harware Components and Networking concepts, such as network topography, VLANSs, Static/Dynamic IPs, Subnetting, IT/OT Networks, and basic understanding of firewalls. Candidate should be familiar with the OSI model and how to troubleshoot different network layers Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory required D2D and/or project support AGILE ways of working necessary Background with computer security Previous experience with validated systems (GxP) a plus Implement the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D (GxP and non-GxP) Support for scientists in incident management, user support and coaching, access management Testing and validation of computer software (complete tests in different environments, writing technical documentation) Familiar with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow Client Excel skills a plus Indepth knowledge in Client OS including iOS and Linux a plusGeneric Managerial Skills: Must have outstanding communication skills Candidate must be a team player Self-starter, attention to detail and willingness to learn new things a must Must be willing to follow processes, procedures and guidance Excellent organizational skills is a must Experience in leading team is a plusPreferred for Lab Enablers:- As above, plus:-o Support business priorities by first intento Uplift all labs to a hardware standard that supports working in a digitalized ecosystemo Proactively build stronger partnership with business by aligning technology and science through optimized processeso Becoming a new breed of Tech & business who understands the "science" and use of scientific equipment (HW) + controlling software + data workflow up & downstreamo Innovative solutions that do not exist today including but not limited to explore and implement automated solutions to scientific problems, paving the way for the lab of the futureo Strong product ownership/project management
