Primary Purpose:
Coordinate, plan, and manage technology projects across the district. Responsibilities include project coordination for new construction, building renovations, structured cabling, AV systems, infrastructure upgrades, security technologies, and any activities related to incorporating and/or integrating new technologies into our data communications network
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
Project management certifications (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Kanban)
Knowledge and experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet)
Knowledge and experience reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications
Knowledge and experience with IT structured cabling design (fiber/copper/outside plant)
Knowledge and experience with MDF/IDFs and network infrastructure technologies
Knowledge and experience with technology systems upgrades
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Experience:
Seven years of experience managing large-scale IT projects
Five years of experience managing projects in K12 education preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinate project management activities for a portfolio of projects across various campuses and departments.
Lead, organize, and manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Organize and motivate internal/external teams of subject matter experts (SMEs) for successful project delivery.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, change orders, network diagrams, as-builts, and other relevant records.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors to obtain competitive quotes, select reliable partners, and manage their performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists to review network and/or systems designs and architecture to ensure they meet the district's requirements for performance, scalability, and security.
Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising project quality, timelines, or warranties.
Attend OAC meetings, perform site visits, and conduct field observation reporting to ensure all project objectives are being met according to specifications.
Coordinate vendor commissioning, training, hand-off, and owner acceptance.
Conduct post-project reviews to assess project success, identify areas for improvement, and document lessons learned for future projects.
Supervise project specialists; set and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders through regular and proactively scheduled meetings.
Supports integrated ITIL processes with Incident, Change, and Problem Management. Ensure all changes are well communicated, coordinated, and documented
Maintains up-to-date documentation, including diagrams, on all technology implementations.
Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the team's knowledge of and concern for educational and business needs.
Be customer service oriented and maintain a professional approach regarding all district matters.
Be adaptable and flexible in acceptance of changes in techniques and procedures.
Perform R D and remain knowledgeable of emerging trends in technology and education, and keep abreast of innovative practices.
Attain and keep current, relevant technology certifications.
Perform special projects, after-hours support and upgrades, and other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to the area of IT project management
