Leidos Defense Systems Sectors Digital Engineering team is a service-oriented organization that works with programs and project teams to systematically improve efficiency, eliminate and prevent pain points, and bring modern digital practices to the hands of the tactical day-to-day employee. We are responsible for architecting and implementing large-scale Digital solutions, independent reviews of digital practices, and support of teams implementing new practices. The team plays a pivotal role in fostering teamwork, creativity, and technological advancement in digital engineering initiatives, driving competitive advantage and value creation for the organization. We need a full-stack Software Engineer to work directly with our Chief Architect in developing a Digital Ecosystem. The qualified candidate will assist in design implementation of the solution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Digital Engineers in the design, development, and integration of digital engineering tools and systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of digital threads and digital twins, helping link analytical and engineering tools.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including systems engineers, software developers, and solution architects to ensure project goals align.
  • Contribute to the modeling, simulation, and analysis of systems throughout their lifecycle, supporting design, testing, and validation efforts on multiple high-priority programs.
  • Aid, lead and/or own process improvement initiatives by researching emerging digital engineering technologies and providing recommendations for integration.
  • Document technical solutions, workflows, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and adherence to standards.
  • Participate in meetings, prepare reports, and present technical insights to team members and stakeholders.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimization of digital engineering systems.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices in software design and architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years with a bachelors degree in software engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience with Software and data engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS related certifications
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and tools
  • AWS related certifications
  • Experience with Cloud architecture, integration, and automation
  • Developing and implementing ETL processes in a cloud-based AWS environment (data extraction, parsing, cleansing/curation,
  • translation/transformation, tagging, loading, replication, and distribution)
  • Developing custom codes to ingest, curate and exploit new and existing data sources
  • RESTful APIs, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Prefect, Minio, Kafka, NiFi, Accumulo, PostgreSQL, Python, R, Java,
  • C/C++, data management and analytics tools, Jenkins/Ansible, AWS S3 and SQS solutions

Pay Range: Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
