GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Tableau Developer to work in a hybrid capacity, with 2 days on-site per week at the Ohio Department of Health in Columbus, Ohio. This position requires candidates to be located within commuting distance of Columbus and offers the opportunity to support data-driven public health initiatives through advanced dashboarding and data visualization on the Innovate Ohio Platform.
Position Overview
As a Tableau Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly interactive Tableau dashboards and ensuring data quality by working closely with data engineers and public health stakeholders. You will support business decision-making through clear, secure, and accurate data visualization built on the Innovation Ohio Platform (IOP).
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
Publish, schedule, and manage dashboards and data sources on Tableau Server, including version control and access permissions.
Write complex SQL queries in DBeaver to extract, transform, and validate data from relational databases.
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to perform QA and testing, ensuring data completeness and accuracy.
Work within the Innovate Ohio Platform (IOP), including use of Cloudera Machine Learning (CML) environment and git-based project workflows.
Manage public health data collected from State of Ohio agencies using IOP systems and pipelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Proven experience developing and maintaining advanced Tableau dashboards (Desktop and Server).
Experience publishing, scheduling, and securing dashboards/data sources in Tableau Server.
Proficient in writing complex SQL queries using DBeaver or similar SQL tools.
Strong experience with data QA and validation processes.
Experience with data engineering workflows in the Innovation Ohio Platform (IOP), including Cloudera Machine Learning (CML).
Hands-on experience managing public health data from State of Ohio agencies.
Preferred Experience
Experience using version control and git-based workflows within a data science or analytics platform.
Familiarity with public sector or healthcare data reporting requirements.
Background in public health data or epidemiological research support.
Experience working within large-scale, secure data environments.
