About the role

As an Infra. Architect you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust infrastructure solutions. With a focus on Windows and Cassandra you will ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of day shifts allowing you to balance work and personal commitments effectively.

In this role you will be:

Install configure and maintain DataStax Apache Cassandra clusters

Monitor database performance and optimize queries

Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies

Ensure data security compliance and integrity across distributed systems

Perform routine maintenance upgrades and patching

Collaborate with development teams on data modelling and schema design

Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues

Automate administrative tasks using scripting eg Bash Python

Manage user access roles and permissions

Document database configurations procedures and best practices

Proven experience as DataStax Apache Cassandra Administrator or similar role

Strong understanding of NoSQL databases especially Apache Cassandra

Familiarity with Cassandra architecture replication and consistency models

Proficiency in LinuxUnix environments

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana or DataStax OpsCenter

Scripting skills in Bash Python or similar languages

Knowledge of data modelling and partitioning strategies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Model:

Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in San Francisco, CA.

The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until June 17th, 2025.

The base annual salary for this position is between $73,350 to $116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
