Software Development Engineer, Social Share

Key job responsibilities
As an Engineer, you'll be taking a leadership role in defining and delivering the future of sharing on Amazon. You'll collaborate closely with UX designers and product managers to optimize the sharing journey and eliminate any friction. You'll also explore new opportunities to leverage valuable sharing data for social proofing and improved recommendations.

A day in the life
On a day-to-day basis, you'll evaluate new sharing opportunities, define technical solutions, and manage deliverables. You'll also mentor more junior engineers, influence architecture decisions, and present your work to senior leadership.

About the team
We are on a mission to empower customers to meaningfully connect over discovery by enabling easy, impactful sharing across Amazon and beyond. Whether helping someone find the perfect gift or get expert advice, sharing creates communities of customers helping each other. Your work will directly help customers discover new items to buy and get social validation from sharing behaviors.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
