Software Development Engineer II , Device OS Connectivity

The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.
In this role as a Sr Software Development Engineer, you will be part of a fast-paced, agile and innovative team who is bringing new Wi-Fi and networking experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to:

Architect, develop, and deliver Wi-Fi connectivity features for new and existing Amazon devices
Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features and experiences
Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to troubleshoot customer issues
Mentor junior and new team members

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in embedded wireless systems
- Have prior experience with Wi-Fi solutions from one or more major Wi-Fi chipset vendors Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS etc.
- Experienced in Wi-Fi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers
- Familiarity with Android and Linux development on kernel, device drivers, and frameworks
