Software Development Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer to utilize their understanding of network topology and Software Defined Networking to interface with the Kuiper network team. This role involves developing APIs and other enabling interface software tailored to meet unique customer needs. You will demonstrate the capabilities of the defined interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment that you will help develop. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will tackle complex technical challenges related to the Kuiper constellation for government customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software and interface requirements by leading internal and vendor teams.
• Ensure systems meet performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security.
• Communicate project health, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders and management teams.
• Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
• Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate them across multi-disciplinary project teams.

• Proficiency in AWS, Java, Rust, React, and Front End Development.
• Ability to write code in AWS using Python, Kotlin, or Rust.
• Experience in writing new code in Kotlin or C++.
• Solid cloud or networking experience.
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with Kotlin, Rust, Python, or C++.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

• Software Defined Networking experience.

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with the requirement to support PST hours. You will have the opportunity to contribute to writing services in AWS to build out all Kuiper systems for customers at the cloud level and develop features to enhance customer experiences.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
