PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $104,773.14 - $133,168.58
Hourly Pay Range: $50.371701 - $64.023358
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas County's Department of Technology Services seeks a strategic and technically skilled professional to lead impactful technology projects that support county-wide operations.
The IT Project Coordinator is central in translating complex technical needs into actionable plans, aligning project goals with organizational priorities, and ensuring effective implementation across departments. With a strong foundation in project management and technical systems, this position supports advancing technology initiatives that improve public services, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver long-term value for the county.
The IT Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing and delivering a diverse portfolio of technology projects in support of county operations. This includes identifying and evaluating incoming project requests, conducting feasibility studies, and developing detailed project scopes, schedules, and staffing plans. The coordinator will lead interdepartmental task forces, guide the development of project objectives, and facilitate user engagement throughout the project lifecycle. They will manage contractor activities, monitor progress against timelines, and ensure compliance with county standards and contractual terms. The role involves preparing reports, coordinating training programs for end users, representing the department in intergovernmental forums, and building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Through skilled planning and communication, the IT Project Coordinator will help integrate new systems, support continuous improvement, and contribute to the county's strategic goals.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
At least five (5) years of professional experience in technology-related roles with increasing responsibility, preferably in a complex organizational environment, that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
Experience supporting or coordinating information technology projects, including contributing to planning, implementation, and evaluation activities
Demonstrated ability to explain complex or technical information to non-technical users in a clear and accessible manner
Experience conducting system or workflow analysis and identifying opportunities for business process improvements
Experience preparing and delivering training materials to groups with varying levels of technical knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience facilitating meetings and presenting to diverse audiences
General understanding of technology services, infrastructure, and terminology across a range of business applications
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
Experience in a governmental organization
Experience establishing partnerships and relationships in a diverse organization
Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration
Functional experience in software implementation, upgrades, and/or system re-designs

TYPICAL TASKS
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Identifies, reviews, evaluates, and plans feasibility studies utilizing new or emerging technology within the county; analyzes, plans, and manages multi-department projects to ensure cost-effective activities that comply with industry and county standards.
Organizes, participates in, and facilitates interagency task forces responsible for project definition, goals, scope, and evaluation; implements and monitors plans for project organization and staffing; prepares overall project schedule, budget, and cost control systems; develops and maintains project reporting system; coordinates meeting schedules, agendas, objectives, and materials; develops and writes planning reports and correspondence.
Develops and implements short- and long-range plans for project integration into Information Services operations; coordinates, analyzes, and establishes structure, services, equipment, and personnel; manages and coordinates the installation and use of systems as developed; implements and manages special projects or programs; oversees and conducts user training.
Coordinates and monitors contractor activities and end product for compliance with contract provisions, and schedules; prepares, reviews, and negotiates contracts for technical and other services; oversees development of work plans; reviews and approves expenditures for services rendered and field testing of products in compliance with contract terms and county policies.
Promotes positive public and intergovernmental relations; chairs committees to develop standards and practices for purchasing computer technology; represents the project to local partners and organizations, other counties, state agencies, and associations.
Prepares, coordinates, reviews, and administers professional and technical contracts; monitors, directs, and coordinates contractor activities for compliance with contract terms and county policies.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is included in the county's alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. This position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework subject to the and based on the Department's business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
