ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented AI Application Architect to join our team in the Northern VA area. As an AI architect, you will provide guidance and assistance in the analysis, design, implementation and optimization of enterprise wide complex cloud architectures based on customer mission objectives and needs. This is a fully onsite position in the Northern VA region.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement creative and innovative solutions with significant industry-wide impact.
  • Analyze customer missions and business needs to ensure solutions meet objectives using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen.
  • Recommend enhancements to meet highly complex customer needs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud infrastructure for large-scale AI/ML management applications.
  • Design and implement a scalable, cloud-hosted data platform supporting complex organizations with strict access control and governance.
  • Ensure interoperability with multiple cloud providers, open-source software, GOTS, COTS technologies, and AI/ML models, supporting a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
  • Monitor and optimize costs versus performance tradeoffs, enabling secure data product creation, sharing, and reuse within established data policies.
  • Collaborate with development and data science teams to ensure infrastructure supports the solution lifecycle, including continuous integration and deployment.
  • Facilitate the transition to hybid on-premise/cloud architecture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical area
  • Minimum of 12 (10 with Masters) years of experience in software or system architecture and design.
  • Minimum of 4 years of consulting management experience with financial management responsibility.
  • Management Experience: Direct Line Management experience required (including project, people, customer, and financial management).
  • Proven track record of developing and managing AI/ML systems and deploying into production environments.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and generative AI, object-oriented programming languages, cybersecurity, and relational databases.
  • Knowledge and experience working with federal compliance and guidance, such as FISMA, RMF, Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework, DoDAF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800 series, FedRAMP and cloud-based security controls.
  • Experience with architectures supporting full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including client-facing discussions and presentations.
  • Proficiency in architecting and designing cloud environments and infrastructure. Must understand the tradeoffs when choosing services and approaches to system design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Proficient at managing managers and large team.
  • Experience developing and deploying large AI/ML systems.
  • Experience with data fabrics and big data platforms.
